The libbi system can be installed with optional “blackout back-up".
This means that in the event of a power outage, libbi will provide the electricity it’s stored to a dedicated circuit or socket that’s connected to the libbi back-up output.
Any connected solar will still charge your libbi in a power cut.
Do I need a separate "gateway" to use the backup output?
No. libbi contains all the equipment needed to safely separate the essential loads from the electricity grid. This means that, unlike some batteries, you do not need to install a separate "gateway"
Can libbi supply my whole house during a power cut?
No - The backup output can only work up to the power rating of the libbi inverter (3.6kW or 5kW)
This means that you will need your electrician to modify your wiring so that the essential circuits are moved from your existing consumer unit and then fed from the backup output of your libbi.
