zappi V2.1
4.538 / 4.539 - Bug Fix 27/02/2023
- The zappi charge log was not recorded if the zappi reached the "Charge Complete" state
- Version 4.539 - The charge log did not contain all charge data if the zappi had reached "Charge Complete" and then another charge took place before the EV was unplugged.
4.537 - Bug Fix 14/02/2023
- The "vhub" or "gateway" device now forwards Charge Logs from other zappi 2.1's in the network
- Improvements to the new Charge Logs code to deal with some situations where the logs became corrupted and would then not upload to the server
- The timezone not reported correctly to the server
4.525 - Improvement Release 16/01/2023
Bug Fixes
- Background download / new firmware available flags were set even when all firmware on the zappi was up to date. Links to update in the myenergi app to allow the the firmware to be updated directly from the app would have led to unnecessary notifications being received in the app when an update is not required.
- Devices on the same network occasionally have the same "network ID" set causing problems with communications between devices
Improvements
- Various security updates to improve encryption of data sent between the gateway device (Hub / "vHub") and server and to verify the source of over-the-air firmware updates.
4.246 Full Release 26/12/2022
Bug Fixes
- Device Status “boosting” could not have been cleared once set. This resulted in the wrong state being reported in the API + some reports from customers of zappi boosting at the wrong times
- Clock sometimes missed a day at the end of the month. Only visible to customer if "Update from Cloud" was not turned on
Improvements
- Change the way that charge logs are stored and transmitted to the myenergi servers.
This will provide more data to the server (eg %age Green) and improve the reliability of the data upload to the server. All charge logs are uploaded from zappi to give a complete history - Further actions to reduce the data that is sent to the servers if it has already been successfully received.
New Features / Enhancements
- For zappis fitted with a tamper protection board (required for new zappis in England, Scotland and Wales from 30/12/2022), if zappi detects that it may have been tampered with then this is logged and a message is sent to the server.
4.234 - Full Release 22/11/2022
This firmware release provides support for the new tamper protection requirements that come into effect for new EV chargers installed in England, Scotland and Wales from 30/12/2022
We have also made some changes to the communications with the server that should resolve issues experienced by some customers where the "vHub" in the zappi stops hearing packets from the myenergi servers.
Bug Fixes
- Timezones are displayed in the correct order in the Time & Date menu
- Update the DHCP client code to handle the way some routers issue IP addresses. This should resolve problems experienced with some routers where the zappi stops talking to the myenergi server when the IP address is renewed.
New Features / Enhancements
- Changes to the way that the zappi selects a UDP port when connecting to the server. This should resolve problems experienced with some routers where the zappi stops hearing packets from the myenergi servers.
4.152 Bug Fix 31/10/2022
Bug Fixes
- Control Pilot readings could have generated a ‘Pilot Problem!’ when charging an e-208 (and EVs with similar on-board chargers), especially during ECO+ mode “Stopping…” condition.
- Over/Under Voltage Fault status sent to the server wasn’t cleared when the voltage level came back to normal. This caused the app to crash
- Timezones can now be selected in the right order and the display matches the time offset to be applied.
4.133 Bug Fix 25/07/2022
Bug Fixes
- The eSense input defaults to "Disabled" (was previously set to boost)
4.128 Bug Fix 14/07/2022
Bug Fixes
- The German Language was causing display and configuration adjustment issues in the Charge Settings/ECO+ settings menu
- The ECO+ import/stop timer was wrongly displayed on the main screen despite not being counted down.
- The Control Pilot "PWM" signal could be turned on briefly in STOP mode if a Scheduled Boost is also set,
4.122 Full Release 24/05/2022
- This version of the firmware has been developed to meet the requirements of the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021 that come into force in England, Scotland and Wales from 30th June 2022.
- More information on these Regulations can be found in our blog at Smart Charge Point Regulations explained
zappi v2
- Further improvements to third-party battery support
- Resolves bug with "Grid CT Lost" appearing incorrectly
5.039 - Bug Fix 09/06/2023
- Automatically handle missing parameters in the zappi configuration when upgrading from V3 firmware
- Load Control Phase Rotation fixes for internal load CTs - handles bugs identified if the three-phase zappi is not wired L1 - L2 - L3
- If no Grid CTs are set up in the network then the Grid CT Lost feature is disabled.
3.177 - Bug Fix 24/10/2022
- Minor changes to the firmware for "Demand Response" to improve the data provided to the servers for devices that are instructed to take part in a demand response event.
3.174 / 3.175 - Bug Fix 21/08/2022
- The PWM signal could have been turned ON briefly during Stop mode. This happened if there was a scheduled charge set but zappi is in STOP mode. The Kia EV6 responded to this signal and would wake up the onboard electronics.
- Over/Under Voltage Fault status sent to the server wasn’t cleared when the voltage level came back to normal. This caused the app to crash
- ChargeGreen % in event logs fix (only available on the local display at the moment - Green % will be available on myaccount in the future)
- Timezones can now be selected in the right order and the display matches the time offset to be applied (affects Australian and New Zealand timezones)
3.175: Hot Fix to resolve an issue with the radio frequency when the AEST/AESTT timezone is selected.
3.171 - Full Release 03/05/2022
This firmware release provides several new features and improvements. It also resolves the problems recently experienced with the Mercedes EQS450.
New Features
- New CT readings screen (line below the “CT Config” menu) that provides information in one place for all 3 external CTs
- Set Date and Time Screen to be displayed at Bootup after a Config Reset or a Factory Reset
- Communications between devices are now possible over Ethernet as well as wireless. This will help to solve communications between devices if the wireless link is weak. (Ethernet expansion cards for zappi 2.0 will soon be available via the myenergi website)
Improvements
- Start/Stop timers for eco+ mode are now separate. Both can be set from 30s to 240s, default to 30s. This allows the ECO+ charge to start quickly when surplus power is available and then, with a longer stop time set, the charge will continue during longer periods of power import.
- The generation arrow animation threshold (main screen) changed from 25W to 100W
- Updated and corrected German translation
- The socket in untethered units now stays locked during the “Restart/Wake-up” sequence – this will prevent “Lock Failure” error messages when the restart sequence takes place
- Mode changes sent from the app take effect immediately instead of waiting for the delay that takes place when mode changes are made using the zappi buttons
- Changed G100 text to "Check grid CT!" (G100 is UK specific regulation so new text is more informative)
- Phase Angle display along power factor (PF) in CT readings
- Eco+ timers minimum changed from 10s to 30s to prevent excessive interruptions in the ECO+ charge
- New timezone support: AUS_AEST/AESTT
- Support for power measurements >32kW
Bug Fixes
- “Welded Delay” wasn’t reset properly in 1ph units, when no more output voltage was detected. This could have resulted in “Charge Delayed” messages with charging errors on the EV side.
- The “warning flag” is no longer displayed during the “Restart/Wake-up” sequence
3.162 - Bug Fix 26/01/2022
- This release has been developed to improve the efficiency of product tests in production. There is no need to update the firmware on your zappi if it already has version 3.147 installed.
3.147 - Bug Fix 25/10/2022
-
This only affects countries where the clocks are meant to change on Sunday 31st October. Unfortunately, the bug means that the clock change in the zappi took place one week early.
3.142 - Improvement & Bug Fix 02/09/2021
Improvements
- The cloud IP address is displayed on the information screen on page 5
- The firmware download option is now available in the “Other Settings” menu, allowing the firmware to be updated even if the zappi Advanced Menus are blocked with a PIN
Bug Fixes
- Preconditioning settings were not set correctly after a firmware update from firmware <3.112
- Corrected fault messages – “PECT Self Test Fail” may have been reported as “RCD Tripped Type A”
- Improved stability of PWM control if Compatibility Mode is set to 1.00. This is necessary if the minimum PWM needs to be fixed at a value >10%
- Minor improvements to phase-switching logic on three-phase units
- Welded Delay” could have been bypassed when entering STOP mode when 3ph charging, triggering “Contactor Fault!”
3.123 - Full Release 19/05/2021
New features
- The “Charge Blocked” feature introduced in V3.119 has been disabled.
- “Phase Switching…” is now displayed during the phase switching delay
Bug Fixes
- Statuses and main screen messages in Stop Mode weren’t correct
- The “phase switching delay” was active on single-phase zappis even though it is only needed on 3 phase units
- The ECO+ start/stop timer wasn’t reset when the EV was disconnected or when the setting was adjusted in the menu
- The “phase switching delay” was printed in STOP mode
- The phase switching delay was mandatory to resume from STOP mode even if no phase switching occurred in the meantime
