Overview
We often receive questions regarding why the monitor CT readings are not currently visible within the app or myaccount data. It's important to note that the monitor CT option is primarily designed to monitor loads and protect your system or myenergi product.
What does a monitor CT do?
We normally see this being used with our current limiting group limit, which Sets the combined current limit for several devices that are sharing a supply with another large appliance.
For example, a zappi is installed in a garage which also has a washer and a dryer (2.5kW each). The garage has a supply of 32A coming from the main consumer unit in the house.
If all appliances were on together and no limit had been set the total current would exceed the maximum supply current. By setting the Group Limit to 32A an overload will be avoided.
