We don't know if this is a common error for all Mini EV's or just this one vehicle.
A customer reported that their Mini Cooper Se was reporting "Charging Error" if they tried a FAST charge or a Timed Boost. However the car charged fine in ECO and ECO+
We carried out some detailed monitoring and could see zappi starting the charge and keeping the power to the car on all through the charge period, but the EV keeps interrupting the charge. This pointed to a problem with the onboard charger.
As the Mini charged OK in ECO mode (at only 6A) the customer tried setting a device limit of 10A in the zappi (normally zappi can charge at 32A).
With this reduced power setting the Mini charged without an issue - just a bit slower than it ought to...
So it's back to the garage to find out if there's an issue with the onboard charger.
Very strange.

Dr Chris, We have been FAST charging our Mini Cooper SE successfully since last September with our Zappi 2 so this is a problem specific to this car/installation. We have had now resolved low temp comms issues but no issues like this. Prof Chris
