Why reboot?
A reboot may be needed after a firmware update or if the unit becomes unresponsive. The zappi GLO can be rebooted without turning off power at the consumer unit by using a paired RFID card or fob.
Steps to reboot the zappi GLO
- Ensure the RFID card or fob you are using is already paired with the GLO unit.
- Hold the card or fob directly over the RFID sensor on the front of the unit.
- Keep it held in place continuously for 10 seconds.
- After 10 seconds, remove the card or fob.
- The unit will begin rebooting automatically once the card is removed.
Important
Holding the RFID card too short or too long won’t trigger the reboot. The card must be removed after 10 seconds to complete the action.
What happens next?
The LED ring will turn off briefly and then go through its normal startup sequence. This confirms the reboot was successful. The unit will automatically reconnect to the network and resume normal operation.

If the reboot does not occur as expected, make sure:
- The card is paired with the unit.
- You are using the correct sensor area on the GLO faceplate.
- The timing is accurate exactly 10 seconds held, then remove.
