Both the Eddi and Zappi were designed to be solar divert devices at their core, however, with recent changes to export energy tariffs it can, in some cases, be more cost effective to export surplus generation during the day and boost devices at night.
While this was not explicitly designed into the myenergi products here is a way to do this via configuring the export margin of your devices/network. Depending on the firmware version you have installed on your device the menu options may be slightly different. This setting is only made on the master device.
- Menu
- Other Settings
- Advanced
- Supply Grid
- Network
- Export Margin
You want to set your Export Margin to a high number, ideally higher than the total possible output of your solar array and the export from any batteries within your property. This will then result in maximised grid export during the data while not requiring you to manually put your Eddi or Zappi into stop mode or unplug them.
