Overview:
In accordance with the updated Engineering Recommendation G100 Issue 2, 2022 Amendment 2 (Technical Requirements for Customers’ Export and Import Limitation Schemes), it is now confirmed that the harvi can be utilised on the grid point within a G100 installation under certain conditions. These conditions ensure compliance with the latest guidelines for export and import limitation schemes and provide flexibility in how power is managed within a property.
Key Points to Take into Account:
-
Firmware Requirement for Master Device:
The firmware on the master device must be version V5.4x or newer. This ensures that the system can support the necessary features for proper functionality in a G100-compliant setup. -
60A Fused Property:
In a G100 installation, the harvi can be used at full capacity when the property is fused to 60A. For properties with a fuse rating higher than 60A, and if the end user intends to use the full power range, the grid reading should be hardwired into one of the following devices:- zappi V2.1
- eddi V2
- libbi V1
This setup ensures that the full range of power can be used without limitation.
-
CLS System with 60A Maximum Import Limit (MIL):
If the installer or customer wishes to configure a Customer Load System (CLS) with a 60A Maximum Import Limit (MIL), the harvi can be used under G100 guidelines. However, it is important to understand that opting for this configuration will result in a reduction of 20A for the maintained load-controlled devices. This means that the available power for these devices will be limited to 40A. -
User Prompts for G100 Compliance Setup:
During the installation process, the system’s wizard will now ask the user whether they are located in the UK and whether the property should be G100 compliant. This allows the system to tailor its settings based on the user’s requirements. Following this, the user will be prompted to select an Import Limit (choices include 60A, 80A, and 100A) and an Export Limit (choices include 16A, 22A, 32A, 60A, and 100A). These settings are vital for ensuring the system operates in compliance with G100 standards.
Conclusion:
The integration of the harvi in G100 installations offers flexibility and compliance with the latest technical requirements for export and import limitation schemes. By following the outlined steps and considerations—such as ensuring the correct firmware version, understanding fuse ratings, and configuring the import/export limits—installers can ensure that the system operates effectively and in line with the G100 standards. If there are any uncertainties or further guidance is needed during installation, support is available to assist with setup and compliance checks.
