When choosing to install the Libbi battery and inverter, it's essential to follow these detailed installation guidelines to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with standards. The Libbi system, engineered to IP65 standards, is versatile for both indoor and outdoor installations.
Outdoor Installation
The IP65 rating guarantees that the Libbi battery and inverter are dust-tight and protected against water jets, making it suitable for outdoor environments. Ensure that the installation location is stable and free from direct exposure to harsh conditions that could affect its performance.
Indoor Installation
Prohibited Installation Locations
- Habitable Rooms: Avoid living rooms and bedrooms to prevent disruptions and potential hazards.
- Ceiling or Wall Cavities: These spaces do not provide adequate ventilation or accessibility.
- Unsuitable Roofs: Only install on roofs specifically designed to support such systems.
- Access Areas: Do not install under stairs, in access walkways, or near exits to ensure clear egress.
- High Humidity Areas: Locations with over 95% humidity or condensation are unsuitable.
- Salty or Humid Air: Avoid places where salty or humid air can penetrate, as it may cause corrosion.
- Seismic Areas: Additional security measures are required in earthquake-prone regions.
- High Altitudes: Avoid sites over 2000m altitude due to pressure and temperature variations.
- Direct Sunlight: Do not expose to direct sunlight or areas with significant temperature changes.
- Flammable or Explosive Atmospheres: Steer clear of locations with flammable materials, gases, or explosive environments.
Installation Clearance Requirements
To ensure proper function and safety, adhere to these clearance guidelines:
- Restricted Locations: Follow local regulations where applicable.
- 600mm Clearance: Maintain at least 600mm clearance on either side and in front of the system, away from any device, object, exits, windows, or air vents.
- 500mm Ceiling Clearance: Ensure a minimum distance of 500mm from the ceiling.
- 200-300mm Between Stacks: Allow a gap of 200-300mm between stacks for access to the battery side panels.
- Height Limitation: The highest point of the Libbi inverter should be no more than 2.2m from ground level.
- Corridor Installations: Leave a safe egress of at least 1 metre if installed in a corridor, hallway, or lobby.
- Wall Barriers: If mounting on a wall adjacent to a habitable living area, use non-combustible materials or install a non-combustible barrier.
- Emergency Exits: Maintain sufficient clearance for safe egress in corridors or hallways leading to emergency exits.

Additional Safety Measures
- Stable Surface: Ensure the Libbi system is installed on a stable, flat surface at floor level.
- Non-combustible Materials: If the gap between the top of the inverter and the ceiling is less than 600mm, ensure the ceiling and walls within a 600mm radius are made of non-combustible materials.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure a safe and efficient installation of your Libbi battery and inverter system, whether indoors or outdoors. Proper adherence to these specifications will help in maintaining optimal performance and safety standards.
