What is Net Metering?
Net metering is a system that allows you to use the surplus energy generated on one phase of a multi-phase system for consumption on another phase. This process ensures that the energy generated by your system is fully utilised, reducing waste and maximising efficiency.
How Net Metering Works with 3-Phase myenergi Devices
For those using 3-phase myenergi devices, such as the Eddi+, all meter readings will be netted. This means that surplus generation in any of the three phases will be considered available for consumption on any other phase. This capability allows the eddi+ to monitor the total grid export and import figures accurately, providing a comprehensive overview of your energy consumption and generation.
Enabling Net Phasing on eddi+
To enable net phasing on your eddi+, follow these simple steps:
- Access the Device Menu: On your eddi+, press the menu button to access the main menu.
- Navigate to Supply Grid: Use the navigation buttons to scroll through the menu options to device settings, then the installer settings and select 'Supply Grid.'
- Enable Net Phasing: Within the 'Supply Grid' menu, select 'Net Phases.' Here, you will have the option to enable net phasing. Make sure this setting is turned on to allow for net metering across the three phases.
Why Enable Net Phasing?
Enabling net phasing is crucial for users of 3-phase myenergi devices who want to maximise the efficiency of their energy systems. Without net phasing, surplus energy on one phase may go unused while another phase draws power from the grid. By netting the phases, you ensure that all generated energy is available for consumption, regardless of the phase it was produced on.
