What Can I connect to eddi+?

The eddi+ is designed to work exclusively with purely resistive loads. To ensure safe and optimal operation, the following criteria must be strictly adhered to:

Load Specifications

  • Maximum Load Rating: 3kW per phase
  • Minimum Load Rating: 150W
  • Neutral Conductor Connection: The load’s neutral conductor must be connected to the load output N terminal.

Restrictions on Load Connections

  • Electronic Controls: No electronic controls should be connected to the load terminals. Only mechanical thermostats are permissible.
  • Timers: Do not connect any timers, including mechanical timers, to the load terminals.

Utilizing eddi+ Relays and eSense Options

eddi+ offers versatile wiring configurations through its relays and eSense options, providing users with advanced control features.

Relay Features

  • Independent Relays: The device includes two independent relays, each rated at 250V AC, 16A.
  • eSense Input: The eSense input supports a range of 3.3-230Vrms and includes a Volt Free Contact. It is supplied with 24V DC from the zappi.
  • Temperature Sensor Inputs: There are two temperature sensor inputs (PT1000).

Configuring Relays

The two relays on the eddi+ can be configured for various functions. They can operate independently or as a pair, depending on the user's needs. The available relay functions include:

  • Export Threshold: Activates the relay when export power exceeds a set threshold.
  • Import Threshold: Activates the relay when import power exceeds a set threshold.
  • Operate When Heating: Activates the relay during heating operations.
  • De-stratification Pump Control: Manages a pump to mix water layers in a tank to ensure consistent temperature.
  • Timed Operation: Allows the relay to operate on a set timer.

Ensuring Optimal Performance

To maximize the performance and safety of your eddi+ :

  • Adhere to Load Specifications: Ensure all connected loads meet the specified ratings.
  • Use Mechanical Thermostats: Avoid using electronic controls or timers on the load terminals.
  • Leverage Relay Functions: Utilize the independent relay settings to customize the operation of your eddi+ according to your specific needs.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your eddi+ operates safely and efficiently, providing reliable energy management for your purely resistive loads.
