libbi - Firmware Version 5.443
Released 16/12/2024 - Previous Version 5.437
Improvements
- One Click Inverter Firmware Updates: Simplified firmware upgrade process via Installer Settings → System → Update Inverter. Automatically downloads and installs the latest inverter firmware.
- Smarter Power Control System: Enhanced grid balancing with reduced idle power consumption (requires latest inverter firmware).
- Telemetry Compactor: Reduced data exchange to the cloud, improving communication efficiency.
- Battery Temperature Menu: Temperature readings for each battery pack now accessible on Readings Page 7, including heating foil status.
New Inverter Features
- Lower PV Start Voltage: Reduced from 150V to 120V for better performance on cloudy days.
- 150% PV Oversizing: Increased flexibility with support for 150% oversizing for 3.68kW and 5kW inverters (up to 4kW per MPPT input).
- Enhanced Battery Heating Logic: Improved heating performance for batteries operating between 5°C and 10°C.
General Improvements
- Sharper power control and metering accuracy for older inverter firmware.
- Faster heating for batteries in cold weather on systems with PV connected.
- Improved handling of grid or battery disconnections to prevent power issues.
- Firmware Upgrade Safeguards: Added confirmation screen before upgrading inverter firmware.
- G100 Visual Cues & Logs: Information Page 4 now indicates G100 status, with enhanced log retrieval for support.
- Increased maximum export margin to 10kW for high-power systems.
- Clearer communication during system events: "Local Comms Lost" displayed when no system master is present.
- Enhanced export limit handling during communication loss or CT disconnection.
- Updated SoC management to reduce frequent SoC recovery charges.
- Periodic checks of connected batteries to ensure optimal performance.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed power limit issues where:
- zappi stops below the hard minimum limit (6A per phase).
- Equal-priority devices interact incorrectly under power limits.
- Over-limiting occurs with combined power and import/group limits.
- Addressed group "OFF" status causing over-limiting in 3-phase systems.
- Resolved issues with:
- libbi discharging to myenergi devices on different phases.
- Stuck maximum/minimum power values.
- Unstable battery power output under export and discharge limits.
- SoC target schedules overshooting on PV-connected systems with export limits.
- State of charge (SoC) being restricted below 100%, now allowing full charge.
- Enhanced inverter reliability by addressing:
- Timeout issues related to PV shutdown requests.
- Discharging after full SoC reached.
- Other minor bug fixes for improved system performance.
Important Notes on One-Click Inverter Firmware Updates
- Navigate to the menu and follow prompts through information pages before selecting Install Type → Standard to initiate the update.
- The update process may take up to 30 minutes, during which the libbi will be non-operational.
- Specific behaviours during the update process, such as DSP reinstallation or "20" display on inverter screens, are normal and do not affect functionality.
Provided your libbi is connected to the internet the firmware will download automatically over the week following the firmware release. Once downloaded you can complete the installation at the libbi controller.
Alternatively you can complete the firmware installation from the libbi local controls - see this article for more details: Updating the firmware on your libbi
