At myenergi we design products with long-term use in mind. Our devices support firmware updates when connected to the internet. These updates help improve performance, add features, and maintain security.
Software support depends on hardware capability. As technology evolves, hardware components reach practical limits where further updates are no longer possible.
What this article covers
This policy explains software update expectations and support boundaries for zappi, zappi GLO, eddi and libbi.
Eligible products
- zappi
- zappi GLO
- eddi
- libbi
Firmware update availability
Your products are designed to be connected to the internet. When connected, they are able to receive firmware updates from myenergi.
- Firmware updates are delivered automatically or through user action, depending on product and configuration.
- myenergi aims to provide firmware updates for at least 5 years from product launch.
- myenergi also aims to provide major firmware updates for at least the duration of the product warranty.
- All updates remain subject to hardware capability and technical feasibility.
- Some legacy hardware versions will not support newer features.
Hardware compatibility limits
Feature availability varies by hardware revision. If your device does not support a newer feature, you can still use it as normal, but you might not receive all future enhancements.
Security updates
Security updates address vulnerabilities and help maintain safe operation.
- myenergi aims to provide security updates for 5 years from the date of manufacture.
- After this period, your device can continue to operate but might no longer receive security patches.
End of support
Support for new firmware features ends when continuing updates is no longer feasible, for example:
- Hardware limitations prevent reliable operation.
- Critical components are no longer available.
- The product reaches the end of its security update period.
Devices remain functional but might not receive new features or security updates.
Firmware updates on out-of-warranty products
Important
If your device is out of warranty and a firmware update exposes an existing hardware fault, the fault is not covered under warranty or free repair.
Support will:
- Help diagnose issues following an update.
- Advise on recovery steps or configuration changes.
- Confirm whether behaviour relates to hardware failure or configuration.
Support will not:
- Provide free repair or replacement for faults on out-of-warranty devices.
- Cover pre-existing hardware issues revealed by an update.
- Guarantee compatibility with third-party equipment or installations.
Known limitations and third-party factors
Device performance and update success depend on external factors.
- Internet connectivity and network stability.
- Electrical installation quality and compliance.
- Third-party integrations such as energy suppliers or smart tariffs.
- Vehicle compatibility and manufacturer updates.
myenergi cannot guarantee continued compatibility where third parties change their systems.
Customer responsibilities
To maintain update eligibility and safe operation:
- Keep your device connected to the internet where possible.
- Ensure electrical installation meets current regulations.
- Follow official update guidance.
- Contact support if issues occur after an update.
