It is critical that all cabling and gland choices meet the installation site’s specific demands and are compliant with the applicable UK wiring regulations.
Cable Requirements
- Main supply cable must be between 4mm² and 10mm² in cross-sectional area.
- Installers must evaluate the installation method, current-carrying capacity, and environmental conditions before selecting the cable size.
- Armoured cable (e.g. SWA) is allowed.
- If armoured cable is used, CW-type glands (Compression Waterproof) are permitted.
- Cable selection is the sole responsibility of the installer and should be judged on a case-by-case basis.
Gland Requirements
- Acceptable gland sizes: minimum 16mm, maximum 25mm.
- Weatherproof glands are generally suitable for standard outdoor installations.
- The installer must ensure the gland is matched to both the cable and the environmental demands of the site.

If the correct gland is not used, or if it is not fitted properly, the installation may not comply with our instructions. This would invalidate the product warranty.
