If you’ve walked out of range or closed the app mid-install, you might find the Installer Assistant doesn’t reconnect to the zappi GLO straight away. This is expected Bluetooth behaviour and can be resolved quickly.
During commissioning, the app uses Bluetooth to stay connected to the zappi GLO. If the connection is interrupted, for example, by closing the app or stepping out of Bluetooth range your phone may hang on to the previous session. When this happens, the app can struggle to reconnect unless the old pairing is cleared.
- Open your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Find and remove (or “forget”) the zappi GLO device from your list of paired Bluetooth devices.
- Fully close the Installer Assistant app. Make sure it’s not just minimised swipe it away from recent apps.
- Reopen the Installer Assistant app and search again for your zappi GLO.
- To repair with the zappi GLO you will need the 6-Digit bluetooth PIN again.
Tip
If in doubt, restarting your phone can also help clear any stale Bluetooth sessions in the background.
Bluetooth is designed to maintain one active connection at a time. If a previous pairing session didn’t close properly, your phone may think it’s still in use. Clearing the pairing resets the connection and allows the commissioning process to resume normally.
