FAQs

Will this ever cost me money?

No, using Gridpay is free. You’ll still pay for the electricity used to charge your EV, but we make sure it happens during your cheapest available times.

What if I have a two-rate tariff?

We automatically schedule charging during your cheapest available window. On a two-rate tariff, this will typically be your overnight off-peak period.

For tariffs with multiple lower-cost periods (such as dynamic tariffs), we’ll select one of these windows to optimise your charging.

If you need more charge, you can use the 'Boost Now' button in the app.

Can I combine this with a smart tariff, such as Intelligent Octopus Go?

No. Smart tariffs already adjust your charging, and may be participating in grid services on your behalf.

What if I already have a charge schedule?

Gridpay Auto Schedule handles all your charging optimisation automatically based on your tariff – you’ll no longer need manual schedules.

If you need to charge immediately, just hit the “Boost Now” button in-app.

Will you ever take energy out of my car battery?

No, we won’t drain your battery.

How do I opt out?

You can easily opt out of Gridpay Auto Schedule in the myenergi app. Simply open Settings, select Gridpay > Deactivate, and follow the on-screen steps.

How much will I be rewarded?

You’ll earn £5-10 every month you use Gridpay Auto Schedule.

When will I get rewarded?

You’ll receive your rewards at the end of every month you use Gridpay Auto Schedule. You can redeem your rewards once your balance is more than £10.

How will I get rewarded?

At the end of each month that you’ve participated, you'll receive an email with a link to your Gridpay Rewards. From there, you will be able to redeem your rewards via bank transfer (we’ll ask you for your bank details when you’re cashing out). You can access this page at any time.

What do I do if I can’t see Gridpay Auto Schedule in my app?

If you can’t see Gridpay Auto Schedule, make sure you’re using the latest version of the app. You can check this by visiting your App or Google Play store. Once updated, open the app and the option should appear if you are eligible.

Can I use multiple cars with Gridpay?

Yes, you can use Gridpay to charge multiple vehicles. Auto Schedule works with whichever car is plugged in. Simply update your in-app preferences to reflect how much charge you need, and the system will take care of the rest.

Why can’t I change the charge mode?

When Auto Schedule is enabled, your zappi is automatically set to ECO+ mode. This ensures your vehicle charges during your cheapest available times, helping you benefit from lower energy costs.
