If your libbi displays Code 167 / W16: BMS Over Volt, this indicates that the Battery Management System (BMS) has detected an overvoltage condition on the connected battery.

What does this mean?

The BMS constantly monitors the voltage of each battery cell to ensure safe operation. When a battery or group of cells exceeds the maximum safe voltage, the system triggers Code 167 / W16: BMS Over Volt. This is a protective measure to prevent:

  • Battery damage or degradation
  • Reduced lifespan of the battery modules
  • Overheating or safety hazards

When this code appears, the libbi may temporarily limit or stop charging to protect the batteries until the voltage returns to a safe level.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Reboot the libbi.

If your libbi still displays Code 167 / W16: BMS Over Volt, please contact the myenergi Technical Support Team.
