If your libbi displays Code 171 / W20: BMS Communicate Fault, this indicates that the Battery Management System (BMS) has detected lost communications between the libbi Controller, Battery and Inverter.
What does this mean?
The libbi system relies on constant communication between the Controller, the inverter, and the BMS to manage charging, discharging, and overall battery safety. When the system detects that this communication is interrupted or unstable, it triggers Code 171 / W20: BMS Communicate Fault.
This event may limit or stop charging and discharging of the libbi until Communications have been restored.
Troubleshooting Steps
- On the left-hand side of all the batteries, check the comms cable.
- If the connection is loose, reseat the comms cable.
- Reboot batteries.
If your libbi still displays Code 171 / W20: BMS Communicate Fault, please contact the myenergi Technical Support Team.
