Code 173 / W22: BMS Charge Temp Low

If your libbi displays Code 173 / W22: BMS Charge Temp Low, this indicates that the Battery Management System (BMS) has detected that the battery is below it's normal operating temperature.

What does this mean?

Batteries have a minimum temperature below which discharging can be unsafe or inefficient. When the BMS detects that the battery temperature is too low, it triggers Code 169 / W18: BMS Discharge Low Temp to protect the battery.

The libbi may temporarily prevent or limit battery charging until temperatures rise to a safe level. This is a protective measure to avoid permanent damage to the battery cells and to maintain battery lifespan.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check the firmware version of your libbi Controller.
  2. Check the firmware version of your libbi Inverter.

If your libbi still displays Code 173 / W22: BMS Charge Temp Low, please contact the myenergi Technical Support Team.
