If your libbi displays Code 173 / W22: BMS Charge Temp Low, this indicates that the Battery Management System (BMS) has detected that the battery is below it's normal operating temperature.
What does this mean?
Batteries have a minimum temperature below which discharging can be unsafe or inefficient. When the BMS detects that the battery temperature is too low, it triggers Code 169 / W18: BMS Discharge Low Temp to protect the battery.
The libbi may temporarily prevent or limit battery charging until temperatures rise to a safe level. This is a protective measure to avoid permanent damage to the battery cells and to maintain battery lifespan.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Check the firmware version of your libbi Controller.
- If required, update the firmware. See: Updating libbi v1
- If required, update the firmware. See: Updating libbi v1
