If your libbi displays Code 174 / W23: BMS Severe Over Volt, this indicates that the Battery Management System (BMS) has detected the battery is overvoltage.
What does this mean?
The BMS continuously monitors battery voltage to protect the battery pack. When the voltage exceeds the safe maximum threshold, it triggers Code 174 / W23: BMS Severe Over Volt to prevent:
- Permanent damage to the battery cells
- Reduced battery lifespan
- Unsafe operation of the libbi inverter
During this condition, the libbi may limit or stop battery discharge to safeguard the battery until the voltage returns to a safe level.
Troubleshooting Steps
Reboot all batteries.
WARNING
DO NOT complete Step 2, unless you are a qualified Installer.
- Verify that all Inverter and Battery cables are configured correctly.
If your libbi still displays Code 174 / W23: BMS Severe Over Volt, please contact the myenergi Technical Support Team for further assistance.
