Firmware Update
Note
Due to manufacturing and shipping of libbi controllers with firmware that pre-dates the introduction of the 3-phase libbi system, it is important to ensure that the libbi controller firmware is up to date.
WARNING
Failure to observe and follow the instructions below may lead to loss of functionality or incorrect behaviour of the inverter.
Under no circumstances should an inverter firmware update be attempted without first ensuring the libbi controller firmware is up to date.
Installer Instructions
Below are the steps to be followed when installing the new 3-phase libbi inverter.
- Complete the physical installation as detailed within the installation literature.
- Before energising any of the system components, disconnect the battery communication cable from the inverter (the connector labelled “BAT”).
- Switch on the system as per the installation instructions. When energizing the libbi controller for the first time, complete the installer wizard, following the on-screen instructions (ensuring the libbi is internet connected using Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
- Once the wizard is complete check if the libbi controller firmware is compatible with the 3-phase inverter. To do this navigate to “Information” screen 1 of 7 and note the firmware version. The firmware must be v5.823 or above.
- When new firmware is downloaded, proceed to install the firmware by selecting “Install”.
- Once the controller has rebooted, check again the firmware version on “Information Screen” 1 of 7, and check communication with the inverter. If the firmware version is confirmed as v5.823 or later, installation of the inverter can be resumed.
- Once the controller has rebooted, check again the firmware version on “Information Screen” 1 of 7, and check communication with the inverter. If the firmware version is confirmed as v5.823 or later, proceed to step 8.
- Isolate all power to the inverter and reconnect the battery communications cable to the inverter (the connector labelled “BAT”).
- Apply power to the inverter and continue to follow the installation and setup guidance as per the installer literature.
