Having a stable Wi-Fi connection is essential for ensuring your myenergi device functions correctly and can be accessed remotely. If you have recently changed your internet provider, updated your router settings, or are experiencing connectivity issues, you may need to reset and reconnect your device to Wi-Fi.
This guide will walk you through:
- The Wi-Fi requirements needed for a successful connection.
- How to reset the Wi-Fi module to clear previous network settings.
- How to connect your myenergi device to a new or existing network.
- Troubleshooting tips in case you encounter any issues during setup.
Following these steps will help you restore connectivity and ensure your myenergi device continues to operate as expected.
Requirements for a Stable Connection
To ensure your myenergi device connects and operates smoothly, your router should meet the following requirements:
- Supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (myenergi devices do not support 5GHz-only networks).
- Uses WPA2 security (WPA3 may cause connection issues).
- Has a stable internet connection with minimal packet loss.
- MAC address filtering is disabled, or the myenergi device is whitelisted.
- SSID broadcasting is enabled (hidden networks may not be detected).
If you experience Wi-Fi connectivity issues, check your router settings or contact your internet service provider.
myenergi Wi-Fi BGN Standard
myenergi devices use 802.11 BGN Wi-Fi standards, which include:
- 802.11b & 802.11g for standard wireless networking.
- 802.11n for improved speeds and connectivity.
This ensures reliable performance across different network environments, allowing for stable data transfer and enhanced user experience.
If you have recently switched to a new internet provider or are experiencing general Wi-Fi connectivity issues with your myenergi device, one of the recommended troubleshooting steps is to reset the Wi-Fi module within the zappi. This process ensures that any previously stored network credentials are erased, allowing you to reconnect the device to a new network without interference from outdated settings.
Steps to Reset the Wi-Fi Module
Locate the Reset Wi-Fi Option
- Navigate to Menu>Other/Device Settings>Advanced>Reset Wi-Fi Config>
- If prompted, enter the Advanced PIN. If you are unsure of the PIN, refer to any paperwork provided by your installer or contact support.
Confirm the Reset
-
- Confirm the reset by pressing the tick (✓) or "+" button.
Note: The screen will return to the previous menu but not indicate a visible change, the reset has been completed, and the device has now forgotten the previous Wi-Fi network.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi
- Once the reset is complete, the device will no longer remember any previous Wi-Fi credentials.
- Go to the Wi-Fi Setup section of this article and follow the set-up method you wish to use.

If you encounter difficulties connecting your myenergi device to Wi-Fi, try these steps:
1. Check Network Compatibility
- Ensure your router supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, as myenergi devices do not support 5GHz bands.
- If your router broadcasts both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks under the same name, consider separating them or temporarily disabling 5GHz during setup.
2. Improve Signal Strength
- Place the myenergi device closer to the router, especially during setup.
- If your mobile device also has poor signal strength at the device location, consider using a Wi-Fi range extender to improve coverage.
3. Restart Your Router and Device
- Power off your router for a few seconds and restart it. Wait for it to re-establish an internet connection.
- Restart your myenergi device and attempt to reconnect.
4. Verify Network Credentials
- Double-check that the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly. Even minor mistakes will prevent connection.
5. Check Mobile Device Connectivity
- If the myenergi device fails to connect, check if your phone or tablet connects successfully to the router near the device.
- This helps determine whether the issue lies with the device or network.
6. Reset to New Network Settings
- If you've changed your router or internet provider, reset and reconnect your myenergi device to the new network, as it will not automatically detect these changes.
