A common issue reported by users is the appearance of yellow warning triangles in the myenergi app. These triangles indicate that the data on the server for your devices is out of date.
While this can seem concerning, it is often something that users can resolve themselves without contacting support. Below, we explain the causes and steps to resolve this issue in detail.
Why Do Yellow Warning Triangles Appear?
The warning triangles usually appear when your devices are unable to send data to the server. This is not caused by the app itself, so uninstalling and reinstalling the app will not fix the issue.
Once the connection issue is resolved, your devices will automatically resend any missing data stored in their memory. Depending on the length of the outage, this process may take a few days to complete.
Here are the most common causes and solutions:
1. Change of Internet Provider or Wi-Fi Network
If you recently switched your internet service provider, it’s likely that your router has been replaced, resulting in a new Wi-Fi network. In this case, you must update the Wi-Fi credentials on your devices. Follow this guide to update the Wi-Fi settings.
2. Home Internet Outage
If your home internet is down, your devices will temporarily lose connection. Check if other Wi-Fi-connected devices (e.g., phones, tablets) are working. Once the internet service is restored, your devices should reconnect automatically. If they do not, restart your device’s Wi-Fi following the appropriate steps in this guide.
3. Standalone Hub Issues
If you use a standalone hub connected directly to your router, ensure it is powered on and connected. The hub’s light colours can indicate the problem:
- No Server Light: The hub hasn’t received an IP address. Check your router or Ethernet cables.
- Red Server Light: The hub cannot connect to the server. Ensure your home internet is working.
- Blue Server Light: The hub is connected, but your devices aren’t registered. Re-register your devices using the hub serial and registration code.
- Green Server Light: Everything is working correctly.
If the hub is far from your zappi or eddi, consider moving it closer or changing your Wi-Fi channel to avoid interference.
4. Poor Wi-Fi Signal at Device Locations
If your myenergi devices are installed in areas with weak Wi-Fi signals, they may struggle to maintain a reliable connection, leading to frequent yellow warning triangles.
Solution:
Boost or extend your Wi-Fi coverage to improve connectivity. You can also check the signal strength through your device by following this guide.
5. Rebooting Your Devices
If other steps fail, a full reboot of your device may resolve the issue:
- zappi: Unplug the EV (if charging), press the menu button once, then press and hold the menu button to reboot. If this fails, turn off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds and turn it back on.
- eddi: Use the rocker switch on the bottom of the device. Switch it off, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.
- libbi: Turn off the controller using the spur fuse, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.
6. Updating Your Firmware
Updating your device firmware can improve Wi-Fi performance. If your firmware version is below 5, we strongly recommend upgrading. Follow this Page for detailed instructions.
