The device must only be used as described in this guide. Always retain this manual for reference, maintenance, or repair.

Installer and Operator Requirements

  • Only qualified persons should commission, maintain, or service this unit.
  • Personnel must have suitable experience in electrical installations.

Installation Environment

  • Do not use in explosive or flammable environments.
  • Operating temperature: -25°C to +40°C.
  • For fixed installations only, with a permanent AC supply.
  • Indoor or outdoor wall mounting in vertical orientation only.
  • Must be earthed using a permanent and reliable earth conductor.
  • Protect the final circuit with an overcurrent device rated to 120% of the design current.
  • zappi includes 6mA DC residual current detection (RDC-DD). Local regulations may require a 30mA Type-A RCD upstream.
  • Use suitable fixings to secure the unit. Maintain the IP rating with correct grommets, plugs, and cable glands. Ensure the cover O-ring is correctly seated.
  • Disconnect power before removing the cover.
  • Do not insert foreign objects or use cable adapters or extensions.
  • Do not spray or submerge in water.
  • Keep free from heavy objects.
  • Do not use incompatible cleaning agents. Contact myenergi for guidance.
  • Stop using the unit if damaged. Never disassemble or attempt repair — there are no user-serviceable parts. Repairs must only be done with approved myenergi parts by qualified installers.

Electrical Safety

  • Class 1 device (IEC 61140).
  • Install below 2000m altitude.
  • Voltage supply: 230V AC (-10% / +10%).
  • Ensure proper conductor sizing (4–10mm²) and avoid stress or sharp contact.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

  • Meets RF emission and immunity standards for intended use environment.
  • This unit emits and uses RF energy. Incorrect installation may cause interference. Unauthorised modifications may void the right to operate the unit under UK/EU law.

G100 Compliance

zappi supports G100 Issue 2 (Customer Import/Export Limitation Scheme). Where required, installations must follow the G100 Commissioning Guidance. The master myenergi device will manage import/export balancing across the system.

Smart Charge Point Regulations

From 30 June 2022, all private EV chargers in England, Scotland, and Wales must comply with the Electric Vehicle (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021. This unit meets those requirements. More information is available at the myenergi help centre.

National Usage Restrictions

Models with a “-G” suffix include an automatic disconnection device compliant with BS7671:2018 Amendment 1:2020 (722.411.4.1(v)).

  • Devices in public spaces or car parks must be protected against medium severity impacts.
  • Either positioning or physical barriers should be used to prevent foreseeable damage.

Disposal

Per European Directive 2012/19/EU, electrical devices must be recycled responsibly. Return the unit to myenergi or use a licensed disposal service. Improper disposal may harm the environment.
