Flashing or Solid Red Light Faults/Errors - Zappi GLO

Flashing Red Light

If your myenergi product displays a flashing red light, this usually indicates a lockout state fault. Your myenergi app will notify you with further details about the fault.

Solid Red Light

If your myenergi product displays a solid red light, this usually indicates a recoverable fault. 

Please refer to the sections below for further information on what may have caused this and what steps can be taken.

ATTENTION

Do not open your zappi GLO. Only a qualified electrician or installer should carry out internal work.

Flashing Red Light Solid Red Light

Comms fault (RCD)

  • Reboot the zappi GLO.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. Please contact Technical Support.

Contactor fault

  • Reboot the zappi GLO.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. Please contact Technical Support.

G100 local lockout

  • Confirm that all G100 settings are correctly applied in the Installer Settings menu.
  • Verify CT clamp orientation and ensure all connections are secure.
  • Reboot the zappi GLO.
  • If the issue occurs 3 times in 30 days, the unit will enter into manufacture lockout and require further support.

G100 manufacturer lockout

  • See above.

Grid CT lost

  • Ensure the CT clamp is connected to the correct terminal and the CT setting is matched.
  • Check that the CT is clipped securely with no movement.
  • Confirm the direction of the CT (arrow should face the consumer unit).
  • Check CT Type is configured correctly on the installer assistant app (if neccessary) 
  • Reboot the zappi GLO.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. 

Master lost

  • Ensure all linked devices are on the latest firmware.
  • Consider the installation environment carefully – sources of electrical or wireless interference may impact performance
  • Reboot all devices in the eco-system.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. 

Output fault

  • Confirm the EV is correctly connected.
  • Inspect the output cable and port for visible damage.
  • Disconnect and reconnect, then restart the charging session.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. Please contact Technical Support.

Overload fault

  • Reduce usage of other high-load appliances (e.g. oven, heaters, washing machine).
  • Review CT configuration and system limits in the Installer App.
  • Reboot the zappi GLO.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement.

PE fault

  • Check that the installation has a proper earth connection.
  • Inspect for any loose or damaged earth wiring.
  • Reboot the zappi GLO.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. Please contact Technical Support.

RCD tripped fault

  • Check the EV charging cable for damage or wear.
  • Reboot the zappi GLO.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. Please contact Technical Support.

Bad pilot

  • Check the pilot pin on both the EV cable and vehicle inlet for any damage.
  • If possible, test with a different EV.
  • Reboot the zappi GLO.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. Please contact Technical Support.

Bad voltage range

  • If voltages are consistently out of range, report this to your DNO.
  • Refer to the zappi GLO datasheet for acceptable voltage limits.

Not operative

  • Check the status of the zappi GLO in the myenergi app.
  • Reboot the zappi GLO.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. Please contact Technical Support.

Overheating

  • Allow the device to cool naturally for up to 30 minutes.
  • Make sure there is good airflow around the unit.
  • Avoid installation in direct sunlight or near external heat sources.

Overlimit

  • Wait for household load to naturally reduce.
  • Review maximum current settings via the Installer App.
  • Check CT clamp installation and configuration.

Self-test failed

  • Reboot the zappi GLO.
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. Please contact Technical Support.

Time & Clock Missing

  • Connect zappi GLO to a network to sync time & date.
  • If device is offline, use installer assistant app to resubmit time and date
  • If the issue continues, the unit may need inspection or replacement. Please contact Technical Support.
