Overview
When a 3-phase Zappi charger is observed to operate exclusively on a single phase, this situation is typically attributable to an installation error. The configuration of Zappi's terminal blocks may not align with conventional expectations, highlighting the necessity for a comprehensive review by the installer prior to connecting the electrical feeds.
Why Does This Happen?
It is essential to understand that our board configuration deviates from the traditional L1, L2, L3 arrangement. Instead, we utilise an L3, L2, L1 layout, which is a result of employing a shared mainboard across various devices.
To illustrate this point, we provide an example of both our Single Phase Zappi (model 2H07) and our Three Phase Zappi (model 2H22) below:
The Fix
The most effective resolution typically involves interchanging the positions of L3 and L1 within the terminal block. This adjustment permits the Zappi charger to correctly detect and engage with a true Three Phase Rotation.
Phase Rotation is applicable solely to three-phase devices and must align with the wiring of the input terminals. The following specific configurations are available:
- 1/2/3 (Ph-1 to “L1”, Ph-2 to “L2”, Ph-3 to “L3”)
- 2/3/1 (Ph-2 to “L1”, Ph-3 to “L2”, Ph-1 to “L3”)
- 3/1/2 (Ph-3 to “L1”, Ph-1 to “L2”, Ph-2 to “L3”)
