The "Pilot Problem" warning is displayed when the zappi detects an issue with the “Control Pilot” signal on the cable between the zappi and the electric vehicle (EV).
Symptoms
This warning may appear immediately when the EV is plugged in or only when the charge lead is moved or reconnected.
Untethered zappi
To determine whether the issue lies with the zappi or the charge lead, follow these steps:
- Attempt to charge the vehicle at another AC charge point, such as another zappi.
- If the vehicle does not charge at the alternative charge point, the fault is likely with your charge lead. Please consult your cable manufacturer for further assistance.
- If the vehicle charges successfully at the alternative charge point, contact myenergi technical support for further assistance.
Tethered zappi
To diagnose the issue with a tethered zappi, consider the following steps:
-
Check if the car charges elsewhere:
- If the car does not charge successfully at another charge point, zappi is not at fault.
-
Error display without a vehicle plugged in:
- If the error appears even when no vehicle is plugged in, contact myenergi technical support.
-
Error display with a vehicle plugged in:
- Move the charge lead up and down to see if there is a point where the EV starts to charge.
- If the EV does not charge at any point, try charging the vehicle at another AC charge point, such as another zappi.
- If the vehicle does not charge at the alternative charge point, this indicates an issue with the vehicle’s charge socket. In this case, consult the vehicle manufacturer or dealer.
- If the vehicle charges successfully at the alternative charge point, contact myenergi technical support for further assistance.
