Firmware Update Notice for eddi V1 Users
This guide provides guidance for users with the eddi V1 (distinguished by a single antenna) who are updating from version V3 firmware to the current V5 firmware. Please be aware of a specific known issue that may occur during this update, along with the recommended solution.
Potential Issue: Time Setting Disabled After Update
When upgrading from V3 to V5 firmware on an eddi V1, the time synchronisation feature, which allows the device to automatically update the time from our cloud, may become disabled. Unfortunately, this setting cannot be re-enabled without performing a factory reset on the eddi. The reset process will return the device to its original setup, and you will need to reconfigure it as previously set up.
Important Notes:
-
- Warranty Unaffected: Completing this factory reset will not void any remaining warranty on the device.
- App Data Integrity: The data within the myenergi app will not be impacted negatively by this reset. The device's registration is retained, ensuring that historical data remains accessible and unaltered.
Syncing Issues with App Logging
Until this update is completed, users may notice discrepancies in app data logging. The time synchronisation issue can cause the eddi’s clock to go out of sync with our server, preventing accurate data transmission and logging. As a result, the myenergi app will not display real-time data correctly, as the server is unable to validate the information due to clock discrepancies.
Recommended Steps
- Perform a Factory Reset: If the cloud time setting turns off and cannot be re-enabled, initiate a factory reset on the eddi V1. This process will restore default settings. For a guide on how to do this, click here
- Reconfigure the Device: After the factory reset, configure the device to your original settings to resume normal operation. For a video guide on how to do this, click here
By following these steps, your eddi will be fully updated, and the app will resume accurate logging once the clock is synchronised with the server.
