Seeing EV Disconnected on your zappi screen is nothing to panic about. It simply means the charger is not detecting a connected electric vehicle (EV) – in most cases, this is expected when the car isn’t plugged in.
What causes this message?
This message appears when there’s no active communication between zappi and an EV. This usually happens when:
- The charging cable is unplugged
- The cable is connected to the zappi, but not to the EV
- The EV’s charge port is closed
What should I do?
If you want to start charging, simply:
- Open your car’s charging port
- Plug in the charging cable securely at both ends
- Wait a few seconds – zappi should detect the EV
Once a connection is made, the display will change to show a relevant status such as Charging, Waiting for Surplus, or Boosting, depending on your settings and available energy.
Need help?
If the message doesn’t clear after connecting your EV, the issue might be:
- A fault with the cable – try another if available
- A problem with the car’s charge port
- A fault on the zappi unit – check for error messages
Try restarting the zappi and the vehicle.
