Your zappi may now ask you to set a PIN after updating to the latest firmware. This update adds important security improvements to protect your device and personal data.
This change supports EU security standards
The new PIN feature aligns with the European Radio Equipment Directive (RED) cybersecurity requirements. Although this directive applies to the EU, myenergi has chosen to extend these standards across all devices to ensure consistent and enhanced security for every customer.
Why this change has been made
As cybersecurity requirements increase, all connected devices need stronger protection. The zappi firmware update includes new safeguards that help prevent unauthorised access and meet recognised security standards.
- Prevents unauthorised access to your settings
- Protects your device against misuse
- Ensures your zappi meets RED cybersecurity requirements
- Supports stronger and consistent security across all myenergi products
How the PIN works
After updating, zappi will prompt you to set a PIN the first time you touch the screen after a period of inactivity. This adds a basic layer of device security.
- You will be asked to create a PIN after the update completes
- If you prefer not to use a PIN, you must still set one first and then disable it later in the settings
- We recommend keeping a PIN active to protect your charger and personal data
