Overview
There are three ways to set a scheduled boost in the myenergi products but it's important to note when you set up a scheduled charge in your zappi there must be no timers or schedules set in your EV. If you do have a timer in your car it could prevent zappi from controlling when the change takes place. Tap onto the drop down below of your choosen method of applying the setting.
- Tap the zappi icon - In the app, tap the zappi icon on the main screen to access the zappi details page.
- Ensure ECO+ Mode - Make sure the zappi is in ECO+ mode, so it charges when there is surplus generation (e.g., from PV panels) but does not charge if you are importing power from the grid. For more information, see zappi charging modes.
- Access Scheduled Boost - Tap where it says "Scheduled."

Set Up a Schedule -
- Click on the "+" to add a new schedule.
- Enter the start time for the charge and the duration.
- Select the days on which this schedule should run (e.g., a schedule from 01:00 to 04:00 every weekday).
Warning: There is no stop or end time setting. Just set the start time on the left (white numbers) and the duration of the charge on the right (blue numbers).
- Confirm the Schedule - Select "OK." The screen will now display the new boost charge in the grid. Notice the little clock icon next to "Scheduled," indicating that a schedule has been set.
- Returning to the zappi Details Screen - If you leave and return to the zappi details screen, the app will default to showing the Manual Boost settings. However, the clock icon next to "Scheduled" confirms that the scheduled boost is still active.
To set schedules in the menu, navigate to Other Settings and then select Boost Timer.
Similar to the app, schedules are set by providing the following:
- Start Time
- Duration
- Days of the week the schedule applies
- Setting up you account details
- Setting your scheduling preferences
- How does the scheduling engine work?
In the myenergi online account myaccount.myenergi.com you can set up the details or your energy tariff and your charging preferences. The myenergi servers will then work out the optimum times to charge your EV (or boost your eddi).
To use this feature it's important that you provide:
- Details of your EV
- Your electricity tariff
- Your address (as some tariffs are linked to location)
Setting up you account details
Use the menu's on the left hand side of the screen to enter this information if you have not already provided it.
Electricity tariffs are now becoming more complex - a more detailed explanation can be found at myaccount - setting up your electricity tariff. However there are three basic tariff types:
- Flat rate - where the energy is the same price at all times
- Time of Use / Dual Rate - where there are cheaper periods, usually at night but, with some tariffs, also at the weekend
- Flexible or Dynamic - where the price varies every day depending on factors such as the demand on the grid, weather conditions and the availably of wind and PV generation.
Setting your scheduling preferences
Once you have set up your account details, you can enter your scheduling preferences - select "Schedules" from the menus on the left hand side
Depending on your tariff you will have up to three options for setting your scheduling preferences;
1. Scheduled Charge
A Scheduled Charge happens at the same time on each day selected. You can set multiple schedules - for instance for commuting to work and perhaps shorter journeys at the weekend
For each Schedule enter:
- When the EV will be plugged in
- When it needs to be charged by
- How much energy to put in the battery
- Which days of the week this schedule applies to
2. Single Charge
As well as the regular schedules, you can also set up single charges for one off journeys - for instance to make sure that your EV is fully charged for long journey.
The single charge is set up in a very similar way to the scheduled charge, but for a chosen date rather than the same day each week.
3. Budget Charge
The Budget Charge is only available if you are on a Dynamic or Flexible tariff where the electricity price varies throughout the day.
With the Budget Charge, you set a price - if the electricity price drops below this level then your EV will be charged
The scheduling engine needs to know when your EV will be plugged in so that it can work out the best time to charge.
How does the scheduling engine work?
The scheduling engine starts with the Budget Charge, calculating the best times to charge your EV based on the electricity price
It then moves on to the Single Charge. If a Single Charge is scheduled and the energy delivered during the Budget Charge has not already achieved the target energy, then additional charging periods are calculated to add the extra energy that is needed.
Finally the same approach is taken to make sure that the requirements of the Scheduled Charge are met.
Warning: Please remember that for the schedules to work, zappi will need to be in ECO or ECO+ mode to prevent the EV from immediately charging at full power.
If you do not want to charge from the grid until the scheduled boost then make sure that zappi is in ECO+ mode.
