Overview
Part of the charging regulations states that the lowest charge rate is 1.4kW per phase for a battery-equipped vehicle (EV and Hybrids in short). We understand that sometimes customers may not reach this amount in surplus so we created the Minimum Green Level to allow for some solar to be used to charge greener. Tap the dropdown below that you wish to read.
The Minimum Green Level is a setting within Zappi to allow those who may not have enough solar capacity to allow for a purely surplus-based charge.
When it is set to a Min Green Level of 100% you will need more than 1.4kW of surplus energy available to start the charge. If the surplus falls below the 1.4kW threshold the charge will pause until the threshold is once again met after a short delay will resume the charge.
if you are unable to reach this for example, you can set the to share power from the grid and a generation source to ensure a charge is always maintained. The Min Green Level could be set to 50%. A charge will then start when there is a surplus of 0.70kW, taking a further 0.70kW from the grid or a battery if one is fitted.
It is worth noting that this is only required to start a charge. If a higher amount of surplus becomes available it will be consumed, resulting in less being drawn from the grid.
After opening the app, navigate to the Zappi Icon: | |
Next, access the ECO+ charging mode. You'll see a slider ranging from 1% to 100%. Adjust this slider to set the desired charging level. A higher value means the charging rate will be closer to 1.4 kW. |
Same as the app, you can adjust the MGL via our zappi locally with ease: At zappi, you will need to Navigate to the following screen.
The values range from from 1% to 100% is what you want to adjust, the higher the value, the closer to the 1.4kW required to be reached. You can see at the bottom of this display the required export amount and how much importing you will do.
